Suomenlinna Church on a foggy night with its lighthouse beams visible.

Summary

edit
Description
English: Suomenlinna Church, which doubles as a lighthouse, on a foggy night, making the lamp beams visible. The signal blink is the Morse code for the letter H for Helsinki; four dots. The beams are roughly in 60° separation, making a pattern of four beams in a half-circle. Surrounding the church is a fence, erected in the 1870s, made of 18th-century cannons and chains which were used as a chain boom.
Suomi: Suomenlinnan kirkko sumuisena yönä, saaden kirkontornin majakan valokeilat näkyviksi. Majakka vilkuttaa neljä lyhyttä välkähdystä, joka on Morseaakkosissa H Helsingille. Säteet ovat noin 60° kulmassa toisiinsa nähden, kuvio on siis neljä sädettä puoliympyrässä. Kirkkoa ympäröivä aita on tehty 1870-luvulla ja muodostuu 1700-luvun kanuunoista ja salmien sulkemiseen käytetystä kettingistä.
