| Description |
The premises of City Coach Lines, Upminster Road, Upminster. Taken with an AGFA Isola camera, January 1970. 2 ex-Portsmouth Leyland Titan PDs plus an ex-North Western Road Car vehicle are parked beside the snow covered rubbish dump separating the depot from the River Ingrebourne on the Upminster Road. These vehicles would not have spent long in the fleet and went back to PVS Sales at Silver End not long afterwards. GTP982, GTP983 and KDB660, a Weymann bodied Tiger Cub are in the picture, along with 2 other Portsmouth PD2/10 buses with Leyland bodywork...GTP978 and GTp979 GTP982 was dismantled at PVS, SIlver End October 1970. 984 was also at PVS in 1971, as were 979/83 both in Lesney (Matchbox) livery in 1971. 979/80/998 - fleet nos 53, 54 and 11 , also appeared at Silver End Lesney operated 977-80/83 in its works fleet, numbered 50-54. TTP994/7 Tiger Cub dual doorway single-deckers also passed through PVS Sales about this time. |
