Hardie Robbins, 3909718, 385 Lake Street, San Francisco, California, Headquarters Company, Task Force "A" in hospital train, Newport News, Virginia; severely burned by explosion of torpedo from submarine. The transport [Tasker H.] Bliss was sunk November 12, 1942. He swam to life raft, two miles from shore off Fedhala, sixteen miles from Casablanca; picked up by boat; taken to hospital November 14, 1942; arrived Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation November 27, 1942. Official Photograph U.S. Army Signal Corps, Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation, Newport News Virginia."
