Cientista e professora britânica, Susan Greenfield já recebeu mais de trinta títulos de doutorado honoris causa, além de ter sido agraciada com o Michael Faraday Prize (1998), honraria concedida pela Sociedade Real. Professora do Lincoln College na Universidade de Oxford, já exerceu os cargos de diretora do Instituto Real Britânico e foi patrona do Alzheimer Research Trust.

Conhecida por popularizar a ciência, Susan Greenfield pesquisa a psicologia do cérebro com ênfase no estudo das causas do mal de Parkinson e Alzheimer. Sua abordagem multidisciplinar visa explorar novos mecanismos neuronais do cérebro, característicos das regiões afetadas por ambas as doenças. Seus livros, mesmo abordando temas tão complexos, trazem uma linguagem acessível ao grande público, figurando na lista dos mais vendidos no Reino Unido.
