English: Reverse of a Russian stampless folded domestic letter sent from Суздаль / Suzdal to Dmitriev. 'SUZDAL 1825 NOV 25' double ring, three line date cancel, manuscript '20' kopecks rate. Wax seal reverse. Earliest known postmark from Suzdal.

Details:

  • November 25 (Julian) 1825 letter posted. Post office placed handstamp 'SUZDAL/ 1825 NOV 25' postmark at reverse. Suzdal was part of the Vladimir Government post office.
Dobin: Suzdal 07.2.13 type 1.01. Dated 4 years before Dobin mentions start of usage in 1829! Rarity 4.[1]
