Description
English: The Svenska Levantiska Compagniet was founded by royal privilege on 20 February 1738. The founders of the company included Johan Claesson, Claes Grill, Michel Hising, Samuel Worster, Hindrich Schröder & Sohn, Anders Plomgren and Thomas Plomgren, Gustaf Kierman and Jacob Buckau. The company was granted the exclusive right to trade with the Levant and the ports in the eastern part of the Mediterranean for ten years. At the request of the directorate and on the recommendation of the Estates, this licence was extended for a further ten years on 15 January 1748, as a result of which new shares were issued. The stock certificate of the Svenska Levantiska Compagniet shown here, for 1500 daler copper coin, was issued on 15 December 1748. It was made out in Stockholm to the director and founder Anders Plomgren and was signed in the original by him and by Claes Grill. Claes Grill, a merchant and entrepreneur, was one of the leading figures of the Swedish East India Company as director from 1753.

Bland grundarna fanns Johan Claesson, Claes Grill, Michel Hising, Samuel Worster, Hindrich Schröder & Sohn, Anders Plomgren och Thomas Plomgren, Gustaf Kierman och Jacob Buckau. Bolaget fick ensamrätt på handel med Levanten och hamnarna i östra delen av Medelhavet under tio år. På direktoratets begäran och på ständernas rekommendation förlängdes denna licens med ytterligare tio år den 15 januari 1748, varvid nya aktier emitterades. Den här visade aktien i Svenska Levantiska Compagniet för 1500 daler kopparmynt utfärdades den 15 december 1748. Den var utställd i Stockholm till direktören och grundaren Anders Plomgren och undertecknad i original av honom och Claes Grill. Claes Grill, köpman och entreprenör, var en av de ledande personerna i Svenska Ostindiska kompaniet som direktör från 1753.
