Description

Belváros - Lechner tér The St. Rozália chapel is the center of the life of the Greek Catholic community in Szeged. The chapel was built somewhat closer to the Dömötör church (the site of the arcades of today's Cathedral Square) in 1881-83. In 1924, due to the large-scale construction around the Votive Church, the chapel was endangered as it was paved for the design of the new dome space. Instead of decoupling the chapel, they decided to move it. The building was cut into pieces, and the numbered pieces were transported to Lechner Square.

The chapel was slightly enlarged during reconstruction and opened in 1929.
