Description

I forgot to post these from a while back. A pair of T-6 Texans joined Sierra Sue II in her flight for the WOTN open house.

The T-6 was an advanced trainer from WWII. It had retractable landing gear and a variable pitched propeller. It was the last type of trainer that a new pilot would fly before transitioning to a front line fighter or going to multi-engine school to learn how to fly a multi-engine airplane. There are numerous T-6 Texans around the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Note: The Navy and Marines called the T-6 the SNJ.
