Description A U.S. Navy General Motors TBM-1C Avenger of Torpedo Squadron 20 (VT-20) pictured after recovery on board the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) on 10 October 1944. Note the flight deck crew removing the tailhook from the arresting wires so that the airplane can taxi forward. From 10–20 October, the carriers of Task Force 38 attacked targets on Okinawa, Formosa, and the Philippines.
