Description

Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland. Another view of Rocky Harbour, looking from its northern outskirts across Bear Cove toward the town centre. Rocky Harbour's population and economy boomed in 1973, when Gros Morne National Park opened and a local detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was established to handle increased tourist traffic, and the national park remains the cornerstone of the town's economy to this day.
