Description

Newfoundland Insectarium, Deer Lake, Newfoundland. The golden ground beetle, seen here, was said to be the inspiration for the titular creature in Edgar Allan Poe's 1843 short story, "The Gold-Bug". Interestingly, they were only introduced into North America in the 1940s, nearly a century after Poe's death.

Insectario de Terranova, Deer Lake, Terranova. El escarabajo dorado, que se ve aquí, se dice haber sido la inspiración para la criatura titular en la cuenta que Edgan Allan Poe escribió en 1843, "El Escarabajo de Oro".
