Newfoundland Insectarium, Deer Lake, Newfoundland. The golden ground beetle, seen here, was said to be the inspiration for the titular creature in Edgar Allan Poe's 1843 short story, "The Gold-Bug". Interestingly, they were only introduced into North America in the 1940s, nearly a century after Poe's death. Insectarium de Terre-Neuve, Deer Lake, Terre-Neuve. Le carabe doré, qu'on voit ici, on dit être la source d'inspiration pour la créature titulaire de la nouvelle qui Edgar Allan Poe a écrit en 1843, «Le Scarabée d'or». Intéressamment, cette espèce n'a été introduite en Amérique du Nord jusqu'aux années 1940, près d'un siècle après la mort de Poe. Insectario de Terranova, Deer Lake, Terranova. El escarabajo dorado, que se ve aquí, se dice haber sido la inspiración para la criatura titular en la cuenta que Edgan Allan Poe escribió en 1843, "El Escarabajo de Oro".
