Additional Notes Mr. Kuttab is the former President of the Palestinian Audio-Visual Union and has founded the Arabic Media Internet Network, or Amin, to provide censorship-free Arabic-language news to media organizations in the Middle East and to "encourage constructive and thoughtful debate on issues of concern to the Palestinian public and the international community." The website is a collection of online newspapers and articles in Arabic.
In 1996, the Committee to Protect Journalists awarded Mr. Kuttab the International Press Freedom Award for his "creative and untiring support of press freedom and free expression [which] has played a crucial role in the development of a nascent, independent Palestinian media and has contributed to an expansion of these freedoms elsewhere in the Middle East."
