English: Table tomb, The Church of St Mary the Virgin Very few early gravestones survived but this medieval table tomb can be seen east of the chancel. The inscription has long since disappeared. Its flat top served for the distribution of food or alms and perhaps it was from here that the Piddlehinton Dole was handed out. |
