Summary edit

Description
English: Attendants Of The Holy Mother. Song Dynasty. Holy Mother Hall, Jin Shrine, Shanxi

Forty-two attendants of the Holy Mother (Yi Jiang, the mother of Tang Shuyu, the founder of the Jin state) are arranged symmetrically in the chambers on either side of her throne. Most of them are palace maids, a few are eunuchs, and one or two are female entertainers dressed in male costume. Two figures are Ming replacements or repairs; the others are original Song.
