Description
English: Tawan Daeng (Thai script: ตะวันแดง; lit. "Red Sun") in Chiang Mai is a huge night life venue playing live Thai "upcountry-style" pop music. People sit at long tables to eat and drink, and if inclined to do so, dance around the table. Important sports (mainly football/soccer) events are played on two screens on both sides of the stage. As part of the decor, very large posters of socialist revolutionaries, communist leaders and musicians line the walls (Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Karl Marx, Che Guevara, John Lennon e.a.)
