Taxidermied Saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus)

Summary edit

Description
English: Taxidermied Saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, National University of Singapore, 2 Conservatory Drive, Singapore
Nicknamed 'Kaiser', this preserved saltwater crocodile was donated by the Singapore Zoo in 2017. An in-situ restoration project was conducted the following year, during which its flaking skin was consolidated and repainted, while high-quality glass eyes and sculpted teeth were fitted to resemble living individuals. Large amounts of textiles were also removed and replaced with lightweight material. Saltwater Crocodiles, also known as Estuarine Crocodiles, are the largest living reptiles in the world and can be found in the wild in the coastal areas and wetlands of Singapore.
