Summary edit

Description
English: Eisa drummers demonstrate traditional music and dance July 20 between dragon boat races in Urasoe City, Okinawa. The races involved 80 teams, including one from Camp Kinser. The day’s races were part of a three-day annual festival called “Tedako Matsuri.” The event is named in honor of Urasoe’s first king, Eiso, who was believed to be the “tedako,” which means “child of the sun” in the Okinawan dialect.
