Description
English: Tees Transporter Bridge aka Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge spans the River Tees. The northern side is in Port Clarence in County Durham and the southern side in Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire. At 170 metres it is the longest existing transporter in the world. The bridge was opened in 1911. It forms part of the A178 between Middlesbrough and Hartlepool. It is grade II* listed and its winch house and piers are grade II listed. The bridge has been closed since 2019 awaiting inspection and repairs.
