English: Tees below Gainford The section of the River Tees from Winston down to Piercebridge makes an easy beginners' canoeing trip, but does need a fair bit of water, especially below Gainford. This is the first rapid after the optional take-out at Gainford, and if this is a scrape it is as well to backtrack and miss out the next several miles. On this day we had a good level for a Swaledale Outdoor Club trip in a mix of kayaks and canadian canoes. |
