English: Telwan School:
It is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in Libya, located in the center of the old city in Ghadames (Ghadames is considered one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world where UNESCO considers it one of the ancient world cities, as many civilizations and cultures passed through it through the ages). The school was established during the second Ottoman rule in 1838, and was the seat of the Turkish ruler (at the beginning of the 19th century). During the Italian occupation, the school was the seat of the Italian military ruler. The school in its beginning was a palace, and then it turned into an Italian elementary school for boys in 1927. Recently, tourists come to it as a tourist attraction, and it was printed on the 20 dinar currency note |
