Temesi bánság és környéke az 1716-1717. évi hadjáratok idején. - Hadtörténelmi térkép. - Domborzat halmos ábrázolással. - Települések nagyság szerint jellel, névvel. - Hadműveletek bejelölve A karlócai béke (1699) értelmében a Temesi bánság területe változatlanul az Oszmán-török Birodalom fennhatósága alá tartozott. 1716-ban a két császár között a hadiállapot azonban kiújult és a Savoyai Jenő vezette keresztény seregek látványos sikereket értek el: 1716. augusztus 5-én legyőzték Péterváradnál a török fősereget. Október 16-án a császári sereg bevonult Temesvárra, a visszafoglalt Bánság első katonai főparancsnoka Claudius Florimond Mercy tábornagy lett. Több csatát követően a császári seregek 1717. augusztus 22-én bevették Belgrádot. A háborút az 1718-as pozsareváci béke zárta le. |
