Summary edit

Description The circular Temple of Vesta in the Roman Forum where the city's sacred flame was kept. In general, temples sacred to Vesta were rounds as they were meant to represent a hearth or an early Italic hut. The podium dates to the Augustan period, but the structure dates to its latest rebuliding in the late second century CE under the Severans.
