English: Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands took residence at Nieuwe Parklaan 110, The Hague, awaiting repairs of the royal palace "Het Loo". She lived here from 6 September, 1945 to 15 April, 1946. The adjoining houses where used by her staff.

In her private diary, which was published later under the title “Eenzaam maar niet alleen” (“Lonely but not alone”), Wilhelmina wrote:

"In Scheveningen I found two villas, at the Parklaan, one for the work my surroundings had to carry out, and one for my personal residence. Early September I could move in. Both houses were situated attractively and seemed spacious enough for the purpose. I had a wonderful sea breeze. Eventually I grew out of it with my work and my many papers and I was glad when the following spring I could again take up residence at Het Loo. Soon after I was settled at Parklaan the opening of the temporary parliament followed."
