Description A formation of circa eleven U.S. Navy Sikorsky HO4S helicopters from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 4 (HS-4) approach the escort carrier USS Badoeng Strait (CVE-116) during exercises off the U.S. West Coast on 27 July 1954. This marked the first time that a helicopter anti-submarine warfare squadron took over full use of a carrier for ASW exercises.
