Français : Les 2 « mamelons » des Télots à la sortie nord d’Autun, Saône et Loire, dont le plus élevé pointe à la cote 397, coincés entre les routes de Montbard-D680 et Dijon-D681, forment un contraste saisissant sur la plaine environnante...
Ce fût de 1824 à 1957, un des hauts lieux d’extraction de schistes bitumineux en France. En 1837 démarre la production d’huile pour éclairage public, alimentant de grandes agglomérations du pays. Un siècle plus tard entre en service une raffinerie dédiée au carburant des véhicules routiers. Cela en fait lors du 2nd conflit mondial un lieu stratégique tant pour l’occupant allemand que les troupes alliées, convoitant la précieuse ressource minérale... les installations subiront ainsi plusieurs tentatives de sabotage. Mais en dépit des investissements consentis à la Libération, les chiffres d’exploitation demeureront toujours modestes en regard des espoirs placés... la concurrence du pétrole conventionnel plus facile à exploiter, porte un coup fatal à l’extraction bourguigonne fin de décennie 1950. A sa fermeture la mine employait encore 350 ouvriers. Son dernier propriétaire était la Société des pétroles de Péchelbronn (Alsace), bien connue des automobilistes pour sa vaste gamme de lubrifiants et stations-services déclinées sous la marque « Antar »... |
