Description
English: Greek, Attic; Alabastron; Vases; Amazon and youth leaning on a staff. Alabastra decorated with an Amazon enjoyed a brief period of popularity at the end of the sixth century B.C. On this vase, there is no evident connection between the two figures. The presence of the youth may indicate that Amazon alabastra were favored by youths rather than women.
