English: Me
R&G Lounge, Financial District, San Francisco, California Leica M8, Cosina-Voigtländer NOKTON 35mm F1.2 Aspherical Aperture 2.0 (raw fine tuning, white balance, crop, color monochrome), NeatImage (denoise), Kubota Image Tools (skin cream ii, sharpen kpd magic sharp) DxO Optics Film Pack (Tri-X BW, med-low contrast) 1/60sec @ f/1.2, iso 320, 35mm (47mm) ____________________________________________________ Plaxo Lunch at R&G Lounge. I brought the camera to show my friend Bill Tani. It’s way too manual for a family man like him, but it does bring back the fun in photography. Once I explained it, he got the hange of the rangefinder quickly. Bokeh is a matter of taste, but I do like the bokeh that comes from this lens. You may be wondering why white balance at all? The reason is because the color setting was so far off from night photography, I had no idea how it should look. The order of the stuff wasn’t specified but it should be intuitive that: the crop and color monochrome was applied at the end to tone the black and white. The crop removed part of the worthless wall behind me and moved me closer to a thirds. Although it’s emulated digitally, you can really see why the Kodak Tri-X is one of the most popular black and white films. |
