English: One of the bridge arches was already blasted on 15 August by Austrian troops of Joseph Anton Freiherr von Simbschen during their retreat up the valley to a width of 30 feet. The sappers of Claude Jacques Lecourbe repaired the bridge temporarily and threw it again during the Russian attack of Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov down the valley on 25 September.
