Description
English: Illuminated leaf from the Old Testament (Book of Esther) in the Prints and Drawings Collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, UK (acquired in 1883). This Medieval Bible once belonged to the Commanderij Nieuwe Biesen, the monastery of the Teutonic Knights in Maastricht, the Netherlands (early Netherlandish, probably locally produced in the Prince-Bishopric of Liège, c. 1300).
