editDescriptionTeversal to Pleasley railway - 1 - geograph.org.uk - 1590998.jpg |
English: Teversal to Pleasley railway - 1 From the old trackbed looking northwards to the Peartree Lane bridge. The growth of the collieries in this area led to a complex network of railways being built to service them. This short stretch was built in 1898 to link Pleasley Colliery to the existing network at Teversal. In 1978 it became the last of the local colliery branch lines to close. |
