Summary
editDescriptionTewkesbury 1st railway station (site) Gloucestershire (geograph 4066636).jpg |
English: Tewkesbury 1st railway station (site) Gloucestershire Opened in 1840 by the Birmingham & Gloucester Railway as the terminus of a short branch from their main line at Ashchurch, this station closed to passengers in 1864 when the line was extended to Great Malvern on a different alignment, and a replacement station built. This site continued to be used into the 1950s for goods. Now completely redeveloped, this image is believed to be taken from roughly the same place as SO8933 : Tewkesbury Old Station, looking at the rear of shops on the High Street. |
