Français : Potelet d'information du "Théâtre Municipal" ou du Jeu de Paume, 17 rue de l'Opéra, Aix-en-Provence (France).

Les Aixois témoignèrent toujours d’un goût pour le théâtre et certains hôtels particuliers possédaient au 17e et18e siècles de vastes salles aisément transformées en scène privée. Les scènes publiques furent longtemps les salles des jeux de paume.
Le théâtre actuel fut construit en 1756 sur l’emplacement de l’une d’entre elles, en ruine, par un groupe d’amis amateurs de théâtre, dont l’architecte Joseph Routier. La riche décoration intérieure réalisée en 1786 fut détruite par des incendies durant le 19e siècle. Elle fut restaurée de nouveau à l’extrême fin du 20e siècle.

Racheté par la municipalité sous la Restauration, dénommé Jeu de Paume, théâtre ou opéra par les Aixois, il présentait les classiques à un public averti. En période de Noël des Pastorales provençales très appréciées y sont données. Il est l’un des lieux essentiel du Festival d’Art Lyrique.
