Description
English: The "Minnetonka" was the Northern Pacific Railroad's Locomotive No. 1. It was built in 1870 and used in construction in northern Minnesota. The locomotive was later sold to a Washington logging railroad for use in the Olympic Peninsula. In the 1930s, the "Minnetonka" was refurbished and exhibited at "A Century of Progress," the Chicago World's Fair.

This 1880s photo shows the "Minnetonka" and its coal car on a bridge in Washington State. Note the great length of the logs which span the stream.
