editDescriptionThe 1905 Originals (9718362659).jpg |
English: The Original All Blacks posing with an unknown team during their tour in Europe and North America. The photo of the Originals is from a series of records generated by Frank David Thomson. In 1901 he was appointed to the secretarial staff of the Prime Minister (Seddon), with whom he attended the Imperial Conference and King Edward's coronation in 1902. On the death of Seddon in 1906 Thomson became Private Secretary to J. A. Millar, Minister of Labour in the Joseph Ward Government. Though the photo is undated, we believe it is a photo of the Originals as it was found with another item, a signed menu by members of the Originals from the 1905-06 tour. |
