| Description |
English: The 4.55 p.m. to Birkenhead Woodside This is the now long-gone Wolverhampton Low Level station of the Great Western Railway. In 1964 I was a regular user of this train and this was the last day that it ran. The locomotive, No 6964, 'Thornridge Hall', was unusual for this train, as normally a 'County' class 4-6-0 was provided. This useful line was a casualty of the Beeching cuts. |
