| Description |
Built in 1910 the boat shed was built to house the family launch Aroha. The Aroha was used to take produce and supplies to Kawau Island, to carry paying passengers on fishing charters, and for family trips to "town" along up into the river to (Warkworth). The launch was hauled in and out of the boat shed in a cradle which ran on rails, using the winch that is inside the shed - no tractor or 4 wheel drive vehicle was required! |
