Summary
editDescriptionThe Boat Shed - Scandrett Historical Farm (19694745358).jpg |
This boat shed built in 1910, was built to house the then family launch Aroha. The Aroha was used to take produce and supplies to Kawau Island, to carry passengers on fishing charters, and for family trips to "town" up along the river to Warkworth. The launch was hauled in & out of this boat shed in a cradle which ran on rails, using the winch (that you see above) that inside the shed - no tractor & 4 wheel drive vehicle was required! |
