Description

Taken from the trail along Jordon Pond in Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island.

For many people, The North and South Bubbles are synonymous with a visit to Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park. They are so prominent on the northern horizon that they rule the visual terrain.

The North Bubble, which you see as the left mountain in the photograph to the right, has the highest elevation at 872 feet. The South Bubble follows at 766 feet.

A carriage road on the western side of Jordan Pond provides spectacular views of the mountains. There is also a hiking path surrounding the pond and well as a trail leading to the Bubbles. (website)
