Description
English: The Church of St James the Great, Kilkhampton A spacious church; the long nave and aisles have seven bays and wagon roofs with carved timbers. The west tower has buttresses. The south porch is dated 1567 and shelters a Norman doorway with four decorated arches and interesting capitals, with zigzags and snouted faces. The 157 carved bench-ends are of c1500-60. The Grenville family were patrons.
