Summary

Description
English: The Churnet Valley Railway at Froghall, Staffordshire At present the services run from here to Cheddleton via Leekbrook Junction. A lease has bee signed for the rest of the track to Caldon Low Quarry (in the direction faced in the picture) and back almost as far as Stoke-on- Trent centre, so a lot of hard work will now be forthcoming to extend the extremely scenic route, gradually. A lot of very serious overgrowth clearance will be necessary from some parts of the totally overgrown track, photographed in several places and shown on this website. The locomotive is a Great Western Railway Large Prairie 2-6-2 tank engine, built in 1934 at Swindon works.
