Summary
editDescriptionThe David Protheroe, Neath - geograph.org.uk - 3852050.jpg |
English: The David Protheroe, Neath. Viewed across Windsor Road. The David Protheroe opened as a J D Wetherspoon pub on June 6th 2001. The Wetherspoon website states that this pub, a former police station, bears the name of Neath's first policeman, who was appointed in 1836. An 1877 map of Neath shows that the County Police Court and Police Station stood opposite the railway station in Windsor Road, where it was rebuilt in 1937. It remained in use as the town's police station until January 1996, and is now this Wetherspoon pub. |
