Description: Scrapbook page consists of one photograph of palmtrees, people, and one camelI in the background of the photograph are buildings. The annotations included on this page describe the growth patterns of the Dom Palm. Transcription: The Dom Palm grows in Upper Egypt. Its peculiarity is that when the stem reaches a few feet above the ground it bifurcates. It has then two stems and two heads- These in turn after growing a few feet bifurcate giving four stems and heads. Another repetition gives eight and so on- In fact it is a branching palm and every bracnh a complete palm tree.
