Description
한국어: 안양사의 창건시기는 왕건이 900년 광주, 충주, 청주 지역을 점령하고 918년 궁예를 몰아내어 고려의 태조가 되었음을 감안할 때 10세기 초반으로 추정된다. "도운집"의 금주안양사탑중신기에서 태조 왕건과 능정이 함게 안양사를 세웠으며, 비보설에 따라 안양사칠층전탑을 건립하였음을 알 수 있다. 불교를 건국이념으로 하는 왕건과 신라계 승려였던 능정의 만남은 정치, 군사, 종교의 이해관계에 따라 안양사가 의도적으로 건립되었음을 알려준다. 고려 후기에는 최영(1316-1388)이 안양사칠층전탑을 중수하였는데 기울어져가는 국가와 왕실의 권위를 재건하고자 하는 의지를 담은 것이었다. 이를 통해 안양사가 고려 창건시기부터 말기까지 중앙정부와 밀접한 관계를 갖는 중요한 사찰이었음을 알 수 있다.
