| Description |
English: After nearly 20 years away, The Fixx made a triumphant return to playing live in London at a packed The Garage in Islington. This gig had been postponed from October 2023 after keyboardist Rupert Greenall injured himself on the US leg of the tour. The long wait was certainly worth it with a storming performance, if a little brief at just 90 minutes.
Cy Curnin's voice was on top form and has changed very little since their 1983 debut as The Fixx. Ably assisted by Jamie-West Oram on guitar - he really should have been in the Smiths - Dan K Brown on bass, Adam Woods on drums this really was the "classic" line up we all wanted to see, all now permanently based in the USA. One has to hope that the band were suitably impressed by the devoted, loud and rapturous reception they received to not leave it another 20 years before a return visit! |
