This 1895 Mansion with its 12 gables overhead was built by Amos and Lillian Frye. The 4 stone pillars and wall were made from rock hauled all the way from Tennessee to NC. Mr. Amos Frye was an attorney and land baron. The home was built with the finest timber of the Smokies. Much of his land is a part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Mrs. Lillian Frye is thought to be the first woman licensed to practice law in NC. The Fryes had one daughter, Lois, who married John P. Randolph. In 1923 the Fryes also had the Historical Fryemont Inn built right next door to their home. After the passing of their daughter, Lois, her husband, John Randolph inherited the home. Years later he sold it to his niece, Ruth Randolph Adams and her husband Bill, who ran it as a Country Inn for 33 1/2 years. After the death of both Bill and Ruth Adams, the 123 year old historical home is now being run as a Bed and Breakfast by their daughter, Viki Adams Jones and son in law Tim Jones. The home was named in Honor of the Fryes and Randolphs and has been owned and operated by 4 generations.
