New gardenshave been made, new bothies and new cottageshave been built, and a splendid parish-roomadded and furnished, the reading-room isprovided with all kinds of indoor games, fromdominos to billiards. In the summer the youngmen have the use of a fine cricket ground pro- Orchids include such useful species as Den-drobiums, Cattleyas, Oncidiums, and Cypri-pediums, besides others. Several houses aredevoted to the forcing of Strawberries, FrenchBeans, Tomatos, and Cucumbers. The vineries are planted with the varietiesMuscat of Alexandria, Black Hamburgh, Madres-field Court, Appley Towers, Lady Downes, andothers. In the Peach-houses are well-trainedtrees of the best varieties of this fruit and ofNectarines. Some good ranges of pits have beenerected.
