| Description |
English: The Glen of Rothes. The former Rothes Glen Hotel in the background is now a private dwelling. The house was built in 1870 as a house and remained so until the 1940's when it was commissioned for Polish troops for preparation for the D-Day landings and then for a year became Gordonstoun primary school. From 1947 it operated as a hotel until 1997. From 1997 it has been reverted back to a private residence.
The Highland cattle which used to graze the field ahead stopped many a foreign tourist eager for a photo. Wild deer can be seen here now. |
