English: The Hampshire Cottage site on the Itchen. On the north bank of the River Itchen is a small copse. (To the left side of the picture) Here, Edward Grey and his wife Dorothy spent peaceful days in their humble cottage. He was the longest serving British Foreign Secretary in 20th Century serving in this capacity from 1905-1916. He was later ennobled as the 1st Viscount Grey of Fallodon. |
