Summary

Description
English: The Heligoland Bird Trap, Spurn Point, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
A bird trap built and operated by the Spurn Bird Observatory at the southwestern end of Chalk Bank at the Spurn National Nature Reserve. Birds are periodically caught, ringed and released from here as part of the Observatory's migration studies programme. Named after the island in Germany where this type of trap was first used, the Heligoland trap sits in a shallow V-shaped cleft in the bank at Spurn Warren, and these Hebridean sheep have apparently chosen to shelter here for a brief respite from the January wind and rain.
