Description

This sheet music was transferred to Archives by the Radio New Zealand, Maori and Pacific Island Programming Unit, Auckland. This song of welcome appears to have been specially written for the royal visit of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth - Queen Elizabeth II would have been less than one year old at the time). The words, in Te Reo, were written by Maewa Kaihau, and the music by Mrs Abel Rowe. Their majesties arrived in Auckland on 22 February 1927.
